This
car was originally owned by Sir Norman Watson, Baronet, who died
in 1982 with no heirs. His wife lived in Park Lane, London, but
died in 1989.
In
the late 1990's, the car was purchased from Vintage Motors of Sarasota
by Keith Jones, who then shipped it to his home in New Zealand for
restoration. There, it was stripped down to the bare body and dipped.
The dipping removed the extensive body filler, so the Keith decided
to recreate a new body tub from zinc-coated steel. Apparently, the
restoration company went out of business mid-way through the project,
so the car (in parts) remained in storage for three years. The owner
has now taken on the restoration himself, but is looking for a craftsman
to finish the new body tub.
