This
car was has been recently owned by Michael Kittredge, founder of
the Yankee Candle Company in Deerfield MA. The car has been displayed
in the car museum affiliated with the company, and has been offered
for sale by Kittredge directly and through several non-exclusive
agents for an asking price of $125,000. Offers under $100,000 have
been turned down.
Kittredge
was said to have bought the car in Arizona in 1990 at a Barret Jackson
auction. (The records of the 1996 Barrett Jackson auction show the
car sold for $97,125 with "new show quality paint, chrome and
leather, new carpets and new top, complete professional mechanical
restoration.")
The
car was frame-up restored in 1997 to factory new standards, finished
in an unusual champagne metallic with red leather interior. It has
factory AC and all tools and books.
